One World ~ One Breath
Today is World T’ai Chi & Qigong Day. It is held annually on the last Saturday in April. Created by T’ai Chi Teacher, Bill Douglas, this event spans the globe, and creates a wave of healing energy throughout the planet. At 10 am local time, cities around the world offer free events in celebration of this day. Each year, World T’ai Chi & Qigong Day grows and receives more recognition. Bill has done an excellent job of spreading the word and inviting people to join in. The official website is worldtaichiday.org, which lists local events that are happening throughout the world as well as many resources and information on these practices. For the last four years I have held events for this and will continue to in the years to come.
Qigong and T’ai Chi are valuable tools in the health and well being of ourselves and our planet. They offer an effective way of bringing healing into our own hands and empowering ourselves. As the awareness of them and other healing forms grow, we may be able to support the shift of health care to a preventative system, rather than a system which only addresses illness. With small steps, we can create change, bring awareness and continue to awaken to the natural way, to the Tao, of living.
