For the past week or so I have been feeling the need for more protein and calories in my diet. While doing a bit of research, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that 3 Tbsp of hemp seeds has 180 calories and 11 grams of complete and highly digestible protein! It also has omegas, fiber, antioxidants, and several vitamins and minerals, making it a superfood which is easy to incorporate into our diet.
Here is a wonderful recipe I have been starting my day with ~ Strawberry Hemp Smoothie. It’s simple and satisfying.
2 cups of water
1/4 cup of cashews (preferably soaked)
2-3 Tbsp of hemp seeds
Blend with ice if desired.
