Cacao Pecan Pie Bars
A great way to incorporate more living foods into our diet is through delicious desserts. Cutting out highly processed sugar and flour found in most cooked desserts can have a profound effect on our health.
Here’s a great recipe for a raw dessert that will satisfy the chocolate lovers in your life!
Pecan Pie Topping
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup packed pitted dates
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly squeezed orange juice
Using a food processor, blend pecans into small pieces. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until mixed evenly and sticky.
Chocolate
1/2 cup cacao butter (I use Navitas)
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
3 Tbs raw local honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Melt cacao butter in double boiler over low heat. Pour in mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour chocolate on paper and spread evenly. Add pieces of pecan mixture to the chocolate. Freeze for 15-20 minutes. Cut into small squares and enjoy!
